Air Freight shipments
- Daily flights available to major European capitals in France, Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany etc
- Freight cost before Covid - 19 was averaging $1.0/kg. Currently its as high as $1.2 - $1.7/kg.
- Transit time to the major cities is 6 hrs after which the cargo may be trucked to other cities.
Sea Shipments
- Dedicated fruit vessels are available 2 times per week for 52 weeks.
- 1st vessel goes to port Vendres in France and port Vado in Italy.
- The 2nd vessel goes to port Antwerp in Belgium and port Portsmouth in the UK.
- The transit times in all cases are between 11 and 12 days.
- Refrigerated containers are used.
- For air and sea shipments the temperature setting is about 10 degrees Celsius.
- Freight cost(all inclusive) per a 40 footer container is €3250.
- 1 40 footer container can take 1,500 boxes of 12 kg net or 13 kg gross.
- Most farms average 80 -- 150 km from the ports. Trucks take on the average 1.5 to 2 hrs to the ports.
